Snowy Monaro Regional Council has unveiled a major upgrade to the Bombala Exhibition Ground, delivering modern, accessible sporting facilities that will strengthen community participation and attract new opportunities to the region.

Snowy Monaro Regional Council was awarded $1,157,150 for the upgrade, jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Government Bushfire Local Economic and Recovery Fund, delivered under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements. Additional funding was also provided by the NSW Government.

The upgrade improves accessibility, safety and overall usability of the Exhibition Ground with a new disability-friendly pathway, accessible parking and an internal gravel road that makes it easier for people to move around the precinct.

Sporting groups, residents and visitors will also benefit from new and upgraded sporting infrastructure including a netball court, two cricket nets, additional spectator seating and landscaping.

Improvements to Bombala’s sport facilities is expected to broaden the opportunities for local clubs to attract new members and host major events which will provide an economic boost to the local economy.
