The latest pipeline of work to improve the safety of local roads across the Bega Valley Shire will soon commence, thanks to increased federal funding delivered by Labor Member for Eden-Monaro, Kristy McBain.
As part of more than $10.7 million in Roads to Recovery funding flowing to Bega Valley Shire Council – including an increase of $3.4 million, $1.1 million in new projects from Bega, Eden, to Rocky Hall have been locked in.
This includes:
- More than $314,000 to support road surface repairs on Barclay Street at Eden – between Calle Calle Street and Aslings Beach Road
- $300,000 to repair road defects on Imlay Street at Eden – between Chandos Street and Albert Terrace
- Over $243,000 towards road pavement repairs on Big Jack Mountain Road at Cathcart
- More than $209,000 for pothole repairs and gravel re-sheeting on Big Jack Mountain Road at Rocky Hall
- Over $123,000 to improve areas of deterioration on Eden Street at Bega
These improvements, delivered in partnership with Bega Valley Shire Council, will begin in the coming weeks and be completed by September.
Funding allocations under the Roads to Recovery Program were made in accordance with the Program Guidelines.
